ooc: Finally coming back from what turned out to be an incredibly long hiatus, sorry about that everyone. After some thinking and discussing I decided that what makes the most sense (I should have thought about this in advance I know) is that Lirael here has been mallynapped. This is her return home after that experience. She's fine, just a little confused since it's been weeks.

Action:

[ If anyone wants to wander into a slightly confused and disoriented Lirael, this is your chance. Break time and space and go crazy, she can be just about anywhere but eventually she does make her way back to house 44 and gets inside, at which point she immediately heads for the kitchen and starts rummaging around to find something to eat. She's a little too out of it to actually manage anything constructive though so she might need a hand. ]

[ Once the dust has cleared and Lirael has been fed and rested and had a bath and all of that good stuff, she makes one of her rare and usually brief video appearances because ugh showing her face to everyone is just so very awkward. Still, it felt like it might be a good idea since she's been gone for quite a while. ]

Uh, hello. I don't know if... [ If anyone noticed? That sounds a little rude, doesn't it? ] I mean... um... I've been gone for a while. Apparently.

I just wanted to say that I'm back now, and I'm fine. In case someone was... Just... In case.

[ Yes Luceti, the Queen of Awkward has indeed come back to you. Aren't you all so glad? ]

I only just got here, couldn't seem to find the house at first, and not just because it looks like a castle now.

[ She wraps her arms around herself and rocks a little back and forth on her feet, uncomfortable with the thought that so much time has passed and she just... can't remember it. ]

My mind feels a little scrambled.

I know the feeling.

[Even if it meant being away for an extra week or so, Sabriel is glad that Lirael had managed to avoid the latest Shift where the spirits in Luceti started possessing people. With a soft smile she tucks her arm around Lirael's shoulders and gently turns her towards the kitchen table.]

Come on, have a seat and I'll fix you up some lunch okay?

[ Lirael nods and lets herself be led to the table, taking a seat as instrcucted. ]

Thank you. So, what have I missed?

[Ranni takes a seat beside Lirael, the dog's head on her knee as her tail wags happily still. First things first, Sabriel sets the kettle on the stove to boil for some tea before getting together ingredients for a sandwich.]

Well, you were lucky to avoid a big mix up with the Filial spirits here. I came back right in the middle of it but they started possessing people, changing the way they thought before they finally left.

[With her back turned Lirael can't see Sabriel's expression darken a little at the memory but when the kettle starts to whistle she shakes it off, fixing up a cup of tea for them both before returning to slide a plate of sandwich and side salad over to Lirael and a mug. Taking a seat across from her she holds her own mug in her hands, a faint smile on her lips.]

Midsummer's coming up though.

[ Lirael reflexively pets Ranni in a way that is pretty much second nature by now due to her long friendship with Dog.

The first sip of tea goes a long way towards restoring her spirits, amazing what just a hot beverage and some food can do. ]

That sounds like it might have gotten messy for some.

[ She smiles a little too at the mention of Midsummer's. ]

Will there be a celebration?

For some, yes.

[Ah tea, it should honestly be one of the great wonders of the world.]

I've heard some talk of a plans of one, Helios and Saori might be doing something at the end of the week by one of the lakes. Although if Loki shows up then it's bound to be full of music and dance and drink like Midwinter was.

Loki? You know, I hadn't actually figured him to be much of a party person.

[ Most of her discussions with him have been pretty severe in nature.

And then there was that one time she fell a little bit in love with him but that doesn't count. ]

He's the one that organized the solstice celebration last Midwinter. As soon as what rituals or traditions were fulfilled it quickly became a party around a large bonfire up in the mountains.

I think so long as there's good music and dancing to be had, he'll be there. Along with good drink of course.

[Loki could be very severe when it suited him but for the most part, Sabriel has pretty positive experiences with the god.]

I must admit that I am now terribly curious about what he would be like with a few drinks in him.

[ Said with a somewhat mischievous grin. ]

Energetic. If you are not dancing when he happens upon you, you most certainly will be for the next while.

I very much doubt that.

[ She takes a bite of her sandwich, but keeps talking around it in a not very ladylike fashion. ]

I don't dance.

Doesn't matter if you do, he'll still pull you onto the dance floor.

[As Ranni's ears perk up a bit at the sight of the sandwich Sabriel clears her throat softly, giving the dog a knowing look over the rim of her mug. The shiba snorts out a soft huff and rests her head back on Lirael's leg, eyes big and dark as she silently pleads for a nibble.]

I don't know what the dances from the Old Kingdom are like but I can teach you some I know. You don't need a partner for it if you don't want one.

[ Can Lirael resist those eyes? No, no she can't, and she breaks off a little piece of the sandwich to share with the dog. ]

I don't really know any Old Kingdom dances either. And can you seriously imagine me getting up on a dance floor, with or without partner?

[ Because Lirael sure can't. ]

You could dance with me. I'd be happy to show you.

[Jack and Lirael spoil Ranni so much. Perhaps it's best that way, since Sabriel and Eugene tended not to fall for her pleading.]

All right then, I'll give it a go.

[ Lirael just really likes dogs all right? ]

[Of course, of course, but they're still spoiling the pup! Not that Sabriel minds too much, she can only be so stern for so long with the dog.]

There should be lots of things to do for when you get tired of dancing too, the beach is quite large. Have you ever been there?
