Backtagging: Yes please, I have periods where I can get very slow so I appreciate backtagging  to no end.
Threadhopping: Most of the time it's fine but if things seem intense please ask first.
Fourthwalling: Most of the time I'd rather you didn't, but if you have an idea that involves canon-puncturing, or your character just happens to be a massive fan of the books that Lirael is from we can at least discuss it.
Cross-canon: All mediums always super welcome, I love crossover stuff.
Shipping: I love shipping, bring it on! It'll take a lot of development with this young lady, but that is part of the fun, I think.

Hugging or kissing this character: IIf it makes sense. Lirael isn't terribly likely to initiate.
Flirting with this character: Sure, go right ahead, though be warned that most likely it will only result in making Lirael uncomfortable.
Fighting with this character:Go ahead, though I prefer working some stuff out a little beforehand, like who is supposed to win for example (if we are talking physical fighting, I mean).
Injuring this character: If it's anything major let's talk first, but minor stuff is fine.

ooc: Finally coming back from what turned out to be an incredibly long hiatus, sorry about that everyone. After some thinking and discussing I decided that what makes the most sense (I should have thought about this in advance I know) is that Lirael here has been mallynapped. This is her return home after that experience. She's fine, just a little confused since it's been weeks.

Action:

[ If anyone wants to wander into a slightly confused and disoriented Lirael, this is your chance. Break time and space and go crazy, she can be just about anywhere but eventually she does make her way back to house 44 and gets inside, at which point she immediately heads for the kitchen and starts rummaging around to find something to eat. She's a little too out of it to actually manage anything constructive though so she might need a hand. ]

[ Once the dust has cleared and Lirael has been fed and rested and had a bath and all of that good stuff, she makes one of her rare and usually brief video appearances because ugh showing her face to everyone is just so very awkward. Still, it felt like it might be a good idea since she's been gone for quite a while. ]

Uh, hello. I don't know if... [ If anyone noticed? That sounds a little rude, doesn't it? ] I mean... um... I've been gone for a while. Apparently.

I just wanted to say that I'm back now, and I'm fine. In case someone was... Just... In case.

[ Since about, oh, Valentine’s day, Lirael has been even more withdrawn than usual. She hasn’t been seen outside her room much and hasn’t really been interacting with even her housemates due to near fatal embarrassment.

This little message is brought to you by her need to bury her existential angst in work.

She would have preferred to just send out a text message but figures she might be more likely to get a response from someone if they can see who they’re dealing with, but she’s obviously not very comfortable with it.

As she speaks she glances downward every now and again, reading from a little note with a pre-written speech on. ]

I’m a Second Assistant Librarian in the Great Library of the Clayr where I come from, and I am also a quite capable mage. I’ll even do housework for people if anyone needs that.

I’m good with animals, and decent with a bow and arrows. I know how to use a sword.

[ Lirael is trying to show as little of herself as possible to the camera, the point of using this function being to show what's in her hand and nothing else. It's a metal case the size of her palm, and engraved with Charter Marks and pleasing decorations both.

Without saying anything she opens the case so that it splits into two halves connected by a hinge. One side is silver like the rest of the case, but the other is a rectangle of absolute darkness. It might not show in video format just how utterly dark that little surface is, how it is made of the complete absence of light, but it's not really all that important.

Then, she speaks. ]

I got this for... uh, Christmas? [ That was the name of the holiday, right? ]

Think it's because I did what the elf told me to. Thanks again to everyone else who gave me gifts, it was... really special.

I've talked to some people about Remembrancing and the things I need to do it, but I'll go over it again for those who don't know what it is. It's a kind of magic that lets me look into the past. I'm uh... the only one who can where I'm from. At least in this particular way. I go into Death and use the Dark Mirror and a set of enchanted silver pipes to see events from the past. The further into the past I wish to see, the further into Death I have to go.

Anyway, this is the Dark Mirror. I figure if that it was here to be given to me as a present... maybe the pipes are too. They're small, the shortest being about as long as my little finger and the longest a little shorter than the length of my hand. If anyone happens to come across them I'd be very grateful if you let me know.

There is also a book, it's bound in blue and held shut by a sliver clasp. It's called the Book of Remembrance and Forgetting. I don't know how likely that one is to show up, but if you happen to find it please let me know.

[ She snaps the mirror shut and then turns off the video function, but she still has something to say. ]

Is... kissing other girls a thing where other people are from? I mean, maybe it's a thing where I'm from too it's just that I've only ever heard about things like that being between men and women.

[ Yes, mistletoe made Lirael kiss a girl and it made her thing about stuff. ]

Don't see why, really. But then again I've never really been interested in kissing anyone.

[ After having gotten over the shock of... Well, everything, and after having herself a good cry, Lirael examined the journal she'd found next to her neatly folded clothes.

It seemed like it had to be magical, and yet she could feel nothing from it. Was it dangerous? It didn't seem like it. Just strange.
